Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized statement, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden group.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime series. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
